19/11/21 – 21/11/21
By Phil: Bob G and Phil, traversed the Carnedds with Jason and David A. David left on Carnedds Dafydd and walked back to the hotel. Jason continued with Bob and Phil to Llewelyn and then descended to Llyn Ogwen. Rain set in, but Crowson allegedly insisted on going up Tryfan. Jason departed. Against his better judgment Bob accompanied Crowson via Milestone to North ridge Tryfan. Dark at foot of ridge but still pushed on. Bob no torch. Traversed Heather Terrace to col below Tryfan. Sketchy path down a steep unstable gully to valley. Soaking wet.
By Mike P: Rob, Mike and Rick caught the bus to Llanberis with the intention of running back to Capel Curig via 2 legs of the Paddy Buckley Round. The weather worsened as we reached the Glyders and Rick decided to cut it short at Tryfan. Rob and Mike carried on and the weather turned even worse during the ascent of Carneddau. The traverse was completed in the dark and we arrived back about 7pm. 39km in total.

By Geoff: Syd, Axel, Richard, Lionel, Andy & Geoff did a 12 miler through the lovely Crafnant Valley, linking the lakes, with Andy completing 9 miles of it whilst mysteriously losing both boot soles almost simultaneously! They continued on to Capel Curig and back via Plas-y-Brenin, although Andy and Lionel returned before this – one because of the state of his feet and the other to watch the rugby on TV. George and Ed climbed the Ordinary Route on the Idwal Slabs, with conditions becoming damper.
By Mike T: On Saturday with Hugh and Glyn plus Willan and Clowes we walked up the hill behind the hotel and worked westwards towards the A5 junction with the Joe Brown shop, enjoying magnificent views of Snowdon, a track across the hills took us to Plas-y-Brenin where coffee was taken. The track that follows the right bank of the river back to the hotel should have been followed all the way back to the hotel, however, poor map reading skills and over reliance on google maps meant we got within a good sighting of Plas-y-Brenin again, a tedious walk down the A5 ensued, a pity since Clowes rightly ignored us and followed the river further and had fine sightings of the bird life. Next time I will get in right.
